On episode 301, we talked a little bit about how Kim is slashing costs on our grocery bill. We promised to post the list so take a look after the jump.

So this is what Kim bought for the week:

  • Dog Food – $10
  • Cat food – $4
  • Frozen breakfast – $2
  • 8 oz yogurt – $2
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese – $2
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese – $2
  • 2 frozen stir fry vegetables – $3.50 total
  • 2 ready-to-bake biscuit rolls – $2.50
  • Tub of margarine – $1
  • 3lbs chicken breasts – $7
  • Frozen mixed vegetables – $1
  • 2lbs ground beef – $4
  • 1gal Milk – $2
  • Ramen soup (12 pack) – $2
  • 1/2gal Ammonia – $1
  • 12 pack drink pouches – $2
  • 8 Apple juice boxes – $2
  • 8 pack microwave popcorn – $2
  • Thai ginger noodles – $2
  • 2 pack Hamburger Helper – $3
  • Valentine cards – $1
  • Cornflakes – $1.50
  • Generic Captain Crunch – $3.50
  • 1 Bag chips – $3
  • 2lbs pears – $2.50
  • 2lbs bananas – $1

Total spent – $69.50.

    Sounds a lot like my list! But cmon, two kinds of cheese? Living high on the hog there, Sam. Slap an extra layer of mayo on that sammich and call it good.

    now since there’s strict list. Is there also an eating schedule? Becuase with you guy’s family size, that could be eaten by mid week.

    Hey, to futher economize your effor, pass out food ration tickets to each family member when you shop.

    Here’s one for the guys. Switch to shaving soap and a straight razor. It takes some getting used to, but you will save a ton on shaving supplies.

    I could never switch over to soap and a straight razor – I’d end up cutting my own throat trying to shave. I don’t have the necessary skillz.
