Plugged in Parenting
The New York Times published an article (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/10/garden/10childtech.html?pagewanted=1) that struck a nerve with a lot of tech-savvy parents. The gist of the article is this: parents who spend a lot of time tuned into their Internet-connected devices are harming their children. Aside from the obvious hazards of texting while driving (you are such an asshole for doing that, just between the two of us), she may have a bit of a point.
Every Dad Needs a Motorcycle
As I get older, I think a lot about what it’s like to be a dad, what it really means. I think about what you have to do and be and give up to raise your kids, and how glad I am that I made the choice to go ahead and spawn some little rugrats of my own. But I know that it’s not always easy, and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming even for us that are old hands at this parenting thing. And that’s why every dad needs a motorcycle.
