Cranberry Almond Wedges Recipe

1 17.5 oz. pkg. sugar cookie mix
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. butter
1 c. dried cranberries ( I substituted with dried cherries)
3/4 c. sliced or chopped almonds
coarse or granulated sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 9 x 13 pan with foil, extending the foil
over the pan edges.  Set aside.

2. Place sugar cookie mix in a large bowl.  Sprinkle almond extract over mix.
Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in dried cranberries (dough will be crumbly).  Press mixture firmly onto
bottom of pan.  Brush top lightly with milk and sprinkle with almonds and sugar.

3. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until center is set and top
is lightly browned.  Cool in pan.  Using edges of foil, lift cookie out of the pan.
Cut into squares.  Store at room temp for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 mos.
